What is the best hair straightener for thick, frizzy, dry, slightly wavy hair?

My hair is quite thick, dry, frizzy, puffy, wavy, and it's past my shoulders. What is a good hair straightener to use (be specific) that is not very expensive, and where can I buy it?What is the best hair straightener for thick, frizzy, dry, slightly wavy hair?
I used a Conair for awhile, my hair is really puffy and goes very curly at my shoulders (My hair is mid-back length). The other answerers are right, I bought a chi a year ago and it works prefectly, giving me straight-but not dead-looking hair.

Whatever straightener you choose, please get a ceramic one. The damage is not worth the money saved on a cheap straightener. Good Luck! What is the best hair straightener for thick, frizzy, dry, slightly wavy hair?
Remington Wet To Straight is good. You can straighten uyour hair while its damp, but it fries it. So use it on dry hair. You can find it at walmart for only 29.99

Very good straightner. Leaves your hair stick straight., shiny, and doesnt frizz at all.

Make sure to put heat protector in your hair, so it won't fry, or get damaged.
Use a chi staightner or a ceramic one. Both will be helpful but a chi may be more expensive than a ceramic depending to the staightner.
the chi is a good straightener

the only one i can think of that works the best and worth the money is the chi. ive had mine for over 5 years and it still works like new!

Whats the best hair straightener in your opinion?

I think steam ones work well. they make my hair poker straight and smooth.Whats the best hair straightener in your opinion?
ive got remington, they were only £20 n ive had them for 3 years n they make my hair VERY straight. ive got extremely long, thick hair n its realllly good. ive heard ghd blows up btw :PWhats the best hair straightener in your opinion?
DEFINATELY a SEDU. I just got mine in the mail it works GREAT it makes my hair straight and smooth no product needed. This is a must buy.
i think firstly GHD and secondly remmington!!
GHD!!! Definitely!!!
ghd :]
id have to disagree id say ghd they heat up so quick and have such as high heat now that really is a pair of straightners that make your hair poker straight...

well worth the money!!!
GHD's are the way for the future but I've had my budget Babyliss straightners for 2 and a half years now; they've never failed me! Plus I've had lots of people ask me which straightners I use coz my hair generally turns out pretty straight.
ghd
ghd but i use babyliss ones aswell and theyre really good and cheaper but i have both so why not invest in ghds and babyliss liek me lol
i find the new hairdryer and hair straighter in one is great
remington
FHI's also come in pink!.. better then GHD's but more expensive

and i know a few people who's GHD's have blown up which is a bit worrying and i know someone that had to replace their GHD's 3 times in the first year because they stopped working..!
i am a hairdresser and i would definatly say that ghd are the best they heat up to 250degrees within six seconds and maintain there heat because they are so hot you dont need to hold them on your hair for as long as others therfore it retains the moisture in your hair leaving it soft and silky i hope that helps sam xx
yes ghd is the best by far but they are well expensive .
hey. i though GHDs too but apparently the pink ones arent very good as they can set your hair on fire or be faulty. i haev never owned a pair of GHDs but some of my friends do and they havn't had any problems with it. but ive read in papers and online and stuff that they are faulty. (not all, some) the one i use is the babyliss pro its really good and works wonder on my hair. good luck. hehe x
I have a Solia and it = amazing %26lt;3 It makes my hair so straight and silky and as long as I have just SOME heat protectant in I don't get split ends or fry my hair
GHD
I have a CHI and a CHI turbo, both are pricey but work GREAT. the original CHI does great but my new turbo CHI i found kept my hair looking smoother and sleek longer and it curls my hair pretty good to. Now....Im not talking ringlets all over but a few curls to

bring out your hair style.
ghd definetly!
GHD. But i have some Vidal Sassoon ones which are really great too.
DONT USE GHD!! i had 2 pairs and both end up faulty. now i use remington wet to straight but on dry hair. theyre great and id know my hair is curly!!! ive been straightning for 6 years and tried soooo many!
GHD
i have just got some new ghd's for christmas and they are the best ones i have ever used they have the highest teperature ever they go up to 260 and thats the only straightner in the world that goes up to that temp and i have really think and curly hair so i use lee stratford poker straight spray it is 6.99 from boots and also i have used the ghd spray that is really good but for a little bottle it costs £10.00 and it doesgt last really long. ow n another tip when you are starightening your hair use a comb that makes it poker straight hope i helped
GHD - dont get the pink ones though becuase people say they set your hair on fire. Maybe not i'm just going by what i've heard. I have andrew collinge ones and they make my hair really really straight. i would definatlely recommened them.
deffinately ghd i mean they actually wrk they may cost alot bt are worth it in the long run!!
For so long I invested in GHD after GHD only to have them break time after time. In 2003 when CHI Iron's were first introduced I was really impressed as I am a hair health technician and am always looking for the next best thing for promoting long and healthy hair! The only way to go is with Ceramic heat and you don't need to invest so much in CHI Irons...Nowadays there are all types of different CERAMIC heat irons. That's what you look for!

~BRYAN'S WIFE~
dno why dont you search the web for an answear
I have really coarse thick curly hair and i find that GHD's work the best but any with a high temp should work on the highest setting. Steam ones tend to make my hair kink!!! Ceramic or glass plates along with a protective spray are definitely the way forward!!!!!
Everyone says GHD but i think my remington ones are the best they are brill. My Cousin is a hairdresser and says my ones are just as good as GHDs ive tryed loads of strightners and i recommend the remingtons plus there only £25. bargin
Ghd's have been the major straigheners for some time but they do have problems too. Try the sallyexpress.co.uk website. They sell almost all the big name straighteners. Fhi and Chs are equal competitors to Ghd and they also have them in the 3 widths too! Micro, Standard and Extra Wide

I use a CHI straightener. That works well. mine only has one heat setting, it gets veryhot. CHI also has some good hair products too. and im not sure about the price in Euros for the ghd thing, but i thought i would give you my straightener opinion =)

What is the BEST hair straightener for thick frizzy hair?!?

I have medium length hair (it is about 1-2 inches over my shoulders) and it's sort of curly but not that much. I mostly have too much hair, that constantly frizzes and is way too poofy. I feel like a poodle sometimes! I've tried many hair straighteners and I can never find one that ISN'T time consuming!

Usually it takes me an hour to straighten out my hair and even after that I have to sleep on it to make it flat. Any help please?

10 points to best answer! What is the BEST hair straightener for thick frizzy hair?!?
I use the Remington wet2dry but I only use it when my hair is dry, I have really curly hair but I've learned that doing your hair in sections/layers is the best way to straighten it. It only takes me half an hour at maximum to straighten my hair.

Also I know this sounds a bit strange but only wash your hair once or twice a week. If you shower just use conditioner to untangle it if you must but shampoo takes out all the natural oils in your hair and i've found they help keep my hair straight and less frizzyWhat is the BEST hair straightener for thick frizzy hair?!?
i think you can try iron TUrbo Iron Hair Straighter and chi Ceramic Hair Straightener ! don't use ghd .
the chi flat iron here is a review =]

Okay, so I need opinions!!! What have you found to be the best hair straightener to buy?

I need to know what type you have, what price, and where did you find it. Any impertinent info would be wonderful. Thank you!Okay, so I need opinions!!! What have you found to be the best hair straightener to buy?
THE best hair straightener to buy?

Not in my book there aren't any.

ALL straighteners are damaging to your hair, no matter what brand or how much they cost.

Only HS, %26amp; college girls use them, but what they don't know is after awhile they'll be back here asking how to make their hair grow, how to keep their hair from not falling out, or how to keep their hair from not getting frizzy and softer, and what is the best product to use.

Many hair models are done using plastic curlers, then they use curling iron or straightener tool for photo shoot, but they don't do it everyday. They're models, the hair industry pay them to sell products. When they're done with that model, they find another one with healthier hair, or put a wig on someone so they look more attractive.Okay, so I need opinions!!! What have you found to be the best hair straightener to buy?
GHD's by far!! I have got through many pairs of normal hair straighteners but GHD's are definitely the best. i have had mine for over 2 years and not had ANY problems! I know they're a bit pricey but they are definitely worth the money if you want straight hair that stays straight! Hope this helps.
babyliss by far. i have had many brands of straighteners from GHD's to asda's own brand. GHD's blew up on me 3 times. i always come back to babyliss i have had 2 pairs of babyliss straighteners and they have been the best by far.

Any ceramic straighteners from salons are great. They take seconds to heat up, have a reasonable price, and last long!... I've compared muliple store bought straighteners to salon bought straighteners and have come to conclusion that I perfer salon bought ones better. :)
depends on the type of hair as to the thickness of the straightner but GHD is about the best you can get
    CHI! (the original)

Ebay have loads of GHDs on thereWhat are the best hair straighteners? where to buy them? price? (UK)?
I have been told that saks straightners are the next big thing, better than GHD's. you can purchase them online. I will be ordering mine shortly.

Ghd are easliy the best straightening iron available on the market, thsey are the oonly iron we use in our salon and produce fantastic results. Our clients can't get enough of them.

The new mark 4 ghd are even better than the previous model. they include a 2 year warranty, more rounded barrell for improved curling, multi world voltage, sleep mode - they automatically turn off after 30 minutes and chill mode to prevent damage with a cold enviroment. They also have a improved heat regulator for a move even distribution of heat and improve more durable cord.

GHDs you can get them from various online sites and from salons roughly between £80-£100
my g/f uses GHD get them from Toni%26amp;Guy but they're expensive
I swear by GHD's, I cant imagine life without them. Get them cheaper on eBay or try www.jasonshankey.co.uk
ghd's and go to a salon price varys for different styles
ghds you can buy them in boots and leading hair salons
GHD's buy them off the internet they will be cheaper
i would say remington professional slim straightener £20 from asda. heats up in like 3osec and straight within 1 stroke and i have thick curley hair and it does wonders for me!
i know this sounds stupid but i use a hot tools curling iron it gets so hot and i can straighten my very naturally curly hair in about 20 minutes im not sure how much i cost though
I can't see by my GHD's. I got mine on ebay for £35!!!!
Ceramic straighteners are the best. I would say GHDs.
definitely ghds!! though they have a habbit of braking (loose wires blowing up ect.) but id say they are worth the money!
GHDs every time! The best/cheapest place I found to buy them was www.beautysleuth.co.uk. I ordered them on the Thursday morning and received them on the Friday morning. The slim ones, which I would say are ok for most types of hair except very long, cost £89.50 and you get a free heat mat with them (which comes in very handy because they are VERY hot!). Happy straightening!
