What is the best hair straightener for thick, frizzy, dry, slightly wavy hair?

My hair is quite thick, dry, frizzy, puffy, wavy, and it's past my shoulders. What is a good hair straightener to use (be specific) that is not very expensive, and where can I buy it?What is the best hair straightener for thick, frizzy, dry, slightly wavy hair?
I used a Conair for awhile, my hair is really puffy and goes very curly at my shoulders (My hair is mid-back length). The other answerers are right, I bought a chi a year ago and it works prefectly, giving me straight-but not dead-looking hair.

Whatever straightener you choose, please get a ceramic one. The damage is not worth the money saved on a cheap straightener. Good Luck! What is the best hair straightener for thick, frizzy, dry, slightly wavy hair?
Remington Wet To Straight is good. You can straighten uyour hair while its damp, but it fries it. So use it on dry hair. You can find it at walmart for only 29.99

Very good straightner. Leaves your hair stick straight., shiny, and doesnt frizz at all.

Make sure to put heat protector in your hair, so it won't fry, or get damaged.
Use a chi staightner or a ceramic one. Both will be helpful but a chi may be more expensive than a ceramic depending to the staightner.
the chi is a good straightener

the only one i can think of that works the best and worth the money is the chi. ive had mine for over 5 years and it still works like new!

Whats the best hair straightener in your opinion?

I think steam ones work well. they make my hair poker straight and smooth.Whats the best hair straightener in your opinion?
ive got remington, they were only £20 n ive had them for 3 years n they make my hair VERY straight. ive got extremely long, thick hair n its realllly good. ive heard ghd blows up btw :PWhats the best hair straightener in your opinion?
DEFINATELY a SEDU. I just got mine in the mail it works GREAT it makes my hair straight and smooth no product needed. This is a must buy.
i think firstly GHD and secondly remmington!!
GHD!!! Definitely!!!
ghd :]
id have to disagree id say ghd they heat up so quick and have such as high heat now that really is a pair of straightners that make your hair poker straight...

well worth the money!!!
GHD's are the way for the future but I've had my budget Babyliss straightners for 2 and a half years now; they've never failed me! Plus I've had lots of people ask me which straightners I use coz my hair generally turns out pretty straight.
ghd
ghd but i use babyliss ones aswell and theyre really good and cheaper but i have both so why not invest in ghds and babyliss liek me lol
i find the new hairdryer and hair straighter in one is great
remington
FHI's also come in pink!.. better then GHD's but more expensive

and i know a few people who's GHD's have blown up which is a bit worrying and i know someone that had to replace their GHD's 3 times in the first year because they stopped working..!
i am a hairdresser and i would definatly say that ghd are the best they heat up to 250degrees within six seconds and maintain there heat because they are so hot you dont need to hold them on your hair for as long as others therfore it retains the moisture in your hair leaving it soft and silky i hope that helps sam xx
yes ghd is the best by far but they are well expensive .
hey. i though GHDs too but apparently the pink ones arent very good as they can set your hair on fire or be faulty. i haev never owned a pair of GHDs but some of my friends do and they havn't had any problems with it. but ive read in papers and online and stuff that they are faulty. (not all, some) the one i use is the babyliss pro its really good and works wonder on my hair. good luck. hehe x
I have a Solia and it = amazing %26lt;3 It makes my hair so straight and silky and as long as I have just SOME heat protectant in I don't get split ends or fry my hair
GHD
I have a CHI and a CHI turbo, both are pricey but work GREAT. the original CHI does great but my new turbo CHI i found kept my hair looking smoother and sleek longer and it curls my hair pretty good to. Now....Im not talking ringlets all over but a few curls to

bring out your hair style.
ghd definetly!
GHD. But i have some Vidal Sassoon ones which are really great too.
DONT USE GHD!! i had 2 pairs and both end up faulty. now i use remington wet to straight but on dry hair. theyre great and id know my hair is curly!!! ive been straightning for 6 years and tried soooo many!
GHD
i have just got some new ghd's for christmas and they are the best ones i have ever used they have the highest teperature ever they go up to 260 and thats the only straightner in the world that goes up to that temp and i have really think and curly hair so i use lee stratford poker straight spray it is 6.99 from boots and also i have used the ghd spray that is really good but for a little bottle it costs £10.00 and it doesgt last really long. ow n another tip when you are starightening your hair use a comb that makes it poker straight hope i helped
GHD - dont get the pink ones though becuase people say they set your hair on fire. Maybe not i'm just going by what i've heard. I have andrew collinge ones and they make my hair really really straight. i would definatlely recommened them.
deffinately ghd i mean they actually wrk they may cost alot bt are worth it in the long run!!
For so long I invested in GHD after GHD only to have them break time after time. In 2003 when CHI Iron's were first introduced I was really impressed as I am a hair health technician and am always looking for the next best thing for promoting long and healthy hair! The only way to go is with Ceramic heat and you don't need to invest so much in CHI Irons...Nowadays there are all types of different CERAMIC heat irons. That's what you look for!

~BRYAN'S WIFE~
dno why dont you search the web for an answear
I have really coarse thick curly hair and i find that GHD's work the best but any with a high temp should work on the highest setting. Steam ones tend to make my hair kink!!! Ceramic or glass plates along with a protective spray are definitely the way forward!!!!!
Everyone says GHD but i think my remington ones are the best they are brill. My Cousin is a hairdresser and says my ones are just as good as GHDs ive tryed loads of strightners and i recommend the remingtons plus there only £25. bargin
Ghd's have been the major straigheners for some time but they do have problems too. Try the sallyexpress.co.uk website. They sell almost all the big name straighteners. Fhi and Chs are equal competitors to Ghd and they also have them in the 3 widths too! Micro, Standard and Extra Wide

  • What is the best hair straightener after a ghd?

i have really thick hair so i need something really good.

btw, how much are ghd's [Ireland] in euro's?What is the best hair straightener after a ghd?
HEY! I got my purple ghd set for only 77euros or 71 pounds you can say i guess. Buts its only 100$ :) its soooo cute and at the moment the best in the market! so i highly highly recommend it! heres where I bought mine!

Best of luck girl! What is the best hair straightener after a ghd?
I use a CHI straightener. That works well. mine only has one heat setting, it gets veryhot. CHI also has some good hair products too. and im not sure about the price in Euros for the ghd thing, but i thought i would give you my straightener opinion =)

What is the BEST hair straightener for thick frizzy hair?!?

I have medium length hair (it is about 1-2 inches over my shoulders) and it's sort of curly but not that much. I mostly have too much hair, that constantly frizzes and is way too poofy. I feel like a poodle sometimes! I've tried many hair straighteners and I can never find one that ISN'T time consuming!

Usually it takes me an hour to straighten out my hair and even after that I have to sleep on it to make it flat. Any help please?

10 points to best answer! What is the BEST hair straightener for thick frizzy hair?!?
I use the Remington wet2dry but I only use it when my hair is dry, I have really curly hair but I've learned that doing your hair in sections/layers is the best way to straighten it. It only takes me half an hour at maximum to straighten my hair.

Also I know this sounds a bit strange but only wash your hair once or twice a week. If you shower just use conditioner to untangle it if you must but shampoo takes out all the natural oils in your hair and i've found they help keep my hair straight and less frizzyWhat is the BEST hair straightener for thick frizzy hair?!?
i think you can try iron TUrbo Iron Hair Straighter and chi Ceramic Hair Straightener ! don't use ghd .
the chi flat iron here is a review =]

Okay, so I need opinions!!! What have you found to be the best hair straightener to buy?

I need to know what type you have, what price, and where did you find it. Any impertinent info would be wonderful. Thank you!Okay, so I need opinions!!! What have you found to be the best hair straightener to buy?
THE best hair straightener to buy?

Not in my book there aren't any.

ALL straighteners are damaging to your hair, no matter what brand or how much they cost.

Only HS, %26amp; college girls use them, but what they don't know is after awhile they'll be back here asking how to make their hair grow, how to keep their hair from not falling out, or how to keep their hair from not getting frizzy and softer, and what is the best product to use.

Many hair models are done using plastic curlers, then they use curling iron or straightener tool for photo shoot, but they don't do it everyday. They're models, the hair industry pay them to sell products. When they're done with that model, they find another one with healthier hair, or put a wig on someone so they look more attractive.Okay, so I need opinions!!! What have you found to be the best hair straightener to buy?
GHD's by far!! I have got through many pairs of normal hair straighteners but GHD's are definitely the best. i have had mine for over 2 years and not had ANY problems! I know they're a bit pricey but they are definitely worth the money if you want straight hair that stays straight! Hope this helps.
babyliss by far. i have had many brands of straighteners from GHD's to asda's own brand. GHD's blew up on me 3 times. i always come back to babyliss i have had 2 pairs of babyliss straighteners and they have been the best by far.

Any ceramic straighteners from salons are great. They take seconds to heat up, have a reasonable price, and last long!... I've compared muliple store bought straighteners to salon bought straighteners and have come to conclusion that I perfer salon bought ones better. :)
depends on the type of hair as to the thickness of the straightner but GHD is about the best you can get

The new mark 4 ghd are even better than the previous model. they include a 2 year warranty, more rounded barrell for improved curling, multi world voltage, sleep mode - they automatically turn off after 30 minutes and chill mode to prevent damage with a cold enviroment. They also have a improved heat regulator for a move even distribution of heat and improve more durable cord.

GHDs you can get them from various online sites and from salons roughly between £80-£100
my g/f uses GHD get them from Toni%26amp;Guy but they're expensive
I swear by GHD's, I cant imagine life without them. Get them cheaper on eBay or try www.jasonshankey.co.uk
ghd's and go to a salon price varys for different styles
ghds you can buy them in boots and leading hair salons
GHD's buy them off the internet they will be cheaper
i would say remington professional slim straightener £20 from asda. heats up in like 3osec and straight within 1 stroke and i have thick curley hair and it does wonders for me!
i know this sounds stupid but i use a hot tools curling iron it gets so hot and i can straighten my very naturally curly hair in about 20 minutes im not sure how much i cost though
I can't see by my GHD's. I got mine on ebay for £35!!!!
Ceramic straighteners are the best. I would say GHDs.
definitely ghds!! though they have a habbit of braking (loose wires blowing up ect.) but id say they are worth the money!
GHDs every time! The best/cheapest place I found to buy them was www.beautysleuth.co.uk. I ordered them on the Thursday morning and received them on the Friday morning. The slim ones, which I would say are ok for most types of hair except very long, cost £89.50 and you get a free heat mat with them (which comes in very handy because they are VERY hot!). Happy straightening!

What is the best hair straightener?

I have thick, wavy, black hair. Where can I find an inexpensive and effective hair straightener? What is the best hair straightener?
    the more expensive the better

maybe try conair? they work for my friend but not for me and she has thick wavy hair but mine is thinner than hers

try chi 2 if u have a bit more money

hope this helps :DWhat is the best hair straightener?
i have really thick wavy hair was well. i use a GHD straightner. it was really expensive, about $200, but i promise it's worth it. plus the warranty is very long so if it ever dies, you get a new one for free!! don't get one at sephora, though, because they charge $250. talk to your hair stylist and see if they can get you a better price, that's what i did.
You should try asking your hair stylist. Sometimes cheap isn't so good cause it lasts for two weeks and then it breaks and you have to buy a new one and so on. I have a great straightner, by Paul Mitchell. It wasn't cheap but it will last a long time.
There is a permanent hair straightener that originated from Japan. It's pretty expensive but will stay straight. Also Nexxus just came out with a spray that will ';train'; your hair to stay straight the more you use it.
I got a Belson Pro from Sally's Beauty Supply for only $19.99. It works really good, and the girls who worked at the local sally's said thats what they have and it works really good and doesnt fry hair (:

I got mine @ walmart it's an andis ceramic straightener and any ceramic straightener is good for thick/curly hair because they get really hot but wont totally ruin you hair
Chi is expensive but totally worth the money. It's amazing.

GVP is really good too and it's cheap. ($50-$60)

    Hope I helped!
Braun Satin Hair is the best is the sarmic Straightener from braun here it is picture

its a tyche Ceramic %26amp; tourmaline straightener
Mine are amazing - i have afro hair and they tame it really well!
    inexpensive .. good luck.

I love my Chi. It's expensive at first, but SO worth the splurge!
    GHD's without a doubt.

The CHI breaks easily and has a very limited warranty. Try the Sedu. That is what I use and my hair is nothing but thick curls.....

In less than an hour (which is amazingly fast for me). plus i can keep it straight for 2-3 days with minimal touchups! It is great in humidity too. I blow dry my hair, smooth on some heat protectant (CHI Infra Treatment Thermal Protective) and straighten. It costs $115 with free shipping and a free flat iron heatproof holder! (It's totally worth the price!)What is the cheapest, best hair straightener?
    go to www.folica.com

you can find ceramic irons in that price range.

I got a solia for 80 bucks on this site, and it's my everyday iron at work.
Your best bet is a ceramic flat iron. My daughter is a master stylist at JC Penney and this is what she uses.
i would suggest buying a chi straightener for around $100

i love my chi, it makes my hair pin straight, so its deff

    worth the money

    http://www.folica.com/Chi_Flat_I_317_1.h/a>
Maxiglide can make the curliest hair straight. It can be purchased at Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond %26amp; online. The bigger straightner (recommended for curlier hair) is $80 %26amp; the small is $50. Also Chi flat irons are amazing.

Is CHI really the best hair straightener?

I've been wanting a straightener for a while now, and I keep hearing great things about CHI flat irons...what are the benefits?

Is it bad for your hair, because of the extremely high heat? Is it worth the money? If you don't think they are great, any suggestions for other types?

Help please! Is CHI really the best hair straightener?
I used to have a CHI. It works nice, I guess, but it dries hair out more, and mine broke after a few months. Now I have a T3 Tourmaline, which was about $120, so it's a little cheaper, and it works so much better. So yeah, CHIs are good, but NOT the best.Is CHI really the best hair straightener?
i hear Chi is the best, and then i keep on hearing Sedu and GHD are the best. any kind of heat on your hair is bad, thats why its best to use a heat protectant. I use a 40 dollar straightener i bought at my local beauty supply store and it works out fine on my hair. there is also a Chi knockoff from Sallys Beauty Supply called GVP, and i think its like 60-70 dollars. You could get a Chi off Folica.com or Amazon.com for cheaper. I think Chi, or Sedu, or GHD are worth it if you can get your hair straight like you came from the salon.
    Hi

I think the chi straightener is the best

it's not bad for your hair cause the plates are made special i think it's ions

maybe wrong. They also use it in salons

I find when i use it my hair is straight for days

    another suggestion is metropolis straightener
omg yes!! i have one and i loveeee it!!! it used to take me like an hour to straighten my hair, but with my chi it only takes like 10 minutes. and btw, idk if this is true or not, but i've heard that the limited edition chis (like the colored ones) dont work as well.
I wouldn't say that it's the BEST, but it works pretty darn well!

I straighten my hair every day and it doesn't fry it or anything, but I switch straighteners. Like one day, I would use the GHD, then the next day I would use the CHI.
My sister has a CHI and it works well. My hair stays really straight, though it seems to dry my hair out more. I use a sedu, and have had wonderful luck with it as well. CHI's are nice irons, but a GHD or Sedu also works well.
actually, they are. my mom has MANY flat irons at her salon, and this one practically TAMES the curl in frizz in customers hair. i also love this flat iron and i find it to work alot better than the sedu.
i use it and it works great!! my aunt's salon uses that brand too, im not sure if it's the best, but it works preety well for me..
i did heard that chi straightners r good...but im not sure cuz ive never tried it...i would like to try it out but if its a metal iron instead of ceramic....nty
yes, i have one and i love it

Although I think that CHIs work good, they are a fire hazard. I had a friend that had one, burnt down her whole house. Sedu's don't make it a fire hazard. They are safe and easy, and also they work like a CHI. Don't have the same problem as my friend.
Chi is the very best in my opinion. I have used a few others, but I LOVE the Chi.
CHI is the best. it works on everything.
Chi is really good. I have a GHD which I love. Either are good.

For a salon iron, i like the Sedu and the Solia irons, becuase they're both really great for their price.

The Solia is cheaper, ranging from about 70-100 dollars, and it offers salon quality performance with heat setttings, so if you have really thin hair, you can turn it down, or if you have really thick hair, you can turn it up:

    http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1/a>

The Sedu is better for thicker hair, because it really does zip through that coarseness in your hair, but it is more expensive, but well worth the money:

    http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Pro_Ionic__d1/a>The best Hair Straighteners?
Use amika!! Thats the best ever, i promise you that you will have no regrets on buying it. It puts these natural oils in your hair and you can also do curls with it because it also bends. Its usually sold in stores at the stands or you can go to the site www.loveamika.com. It will help your hair get healthier without buying the natural oils because its in the straightner. I bought mine for 110$ because it was on sale.
I would to to the beauty salon and get them to strighten your hair for you. I have curly hair and i go and get it done like every 6 to 9 months and its way better then taking a iron to your hair every day and my hair always feels so go after it. I recommend it 100%.
My old Conair one was amazing. It was inexpensive but worked wonderfully.

It was a 2 in. one.
    Chi!

Any ceramic straightening iron will work because it give even heat. It all about products and what u put on your hair. I like sleek line for frizzy hair its a professional product that works but get the serum and conditioner.

U can also use mane and Tail conditioner it coats your hair so use it maybe once or twice then put it away. now u will need a clarifier after using this but only about a month later then re-coat and flat iron. Sebastian Laminates is good too.

After using a good products use a ceramic flat iron of ur choice or budget. (By the way I'm a hair dresser of 18 years!! I do all types of hair no matter hair type black Asian Caucasian etc...)
well as far as i can guess ,you are a black woman and i would advise you to keep your hair as it is . if you dont want to take the risk of waking up one of these day to find out that you are starting to loose your hair that would,nt be so good would it?

FHI - FHIheat.com you can get it for like $120 and there are so many different kinds. i think it out does CHI to be honest my sister has one and i have a CHI and i really like her FHI better. (it straightens my hair faster and it leaves it just as silk smooth as the CHI)

another pretty good one is T3 - which you can get from sephora for about the same price

    but FHI is better haha

    hope i helped!

Price is irrelevant. I just want a really good straightener that will work with my really short/curly/frizzy hair. What's the best hair straightener for short hair?

Which are the best hair straighteners to buy?

my hair is naturally straight but due to years of hair dye it now goes a bit frizzy i use a serum on it when its wet but i would like to get some good straighteners that wont damage it also does anyone know of a good product to put on when using them to protect against heat damageWhich are the best hair straighteners to buy?
Absolutely without a doubt, everyone will reply GHD, and indeed they are the best.

I bought some off Ebay with the name SHE, apparently they are made at the same factory and are exactly the same but with a different name on. I did wonder if it was a con but as they were only £30 as opposed to the £120+ for GHD's I thought it was worth a try and they are really good!

If you don't mind spending the money, and want the name then GHD's are the best but these ones are identical and work just as well.

To protect against damage and help straightening process, try Schwartkopf in a clear bottle with hot pink trigger attachment. Its only £1.99 but is the best one I have tried (and I have tried all the designer type and expensive ones).

Hope this helps xWhich are the best hair straighteners to buy?
    ghd
go to a store if u have a walmart go there then buy this on it says wet to strait it works good on my hair my hair is not fizzy or anything and i have curly hair
I have GHD's they are good. But I did have KODO's hair straightners and I think I actually preferred them. My hair is very very thick, so I need ceramic straightners that get very hot. If you have very fine hair, I would use the KODO's. Plus don't use them every day; make sure your hair is bone dry before you use them; and remember to use a good heat activated balm and condition your hair every time.

I use Indola 4+4 Botanics Straightening Balm; Loreals Professional Shine Serum; and Paul Mitchells Conditioning range. All these can be bought either online or in Sally's Hair Dressing Supplies.

Once in a while I also use a shampoo that removes product build up.

I straighten my hair twice a week and it is still in good condition.
    GHD's.

You can spend less money but you will prob not find them as good and try another pair, so really best just investing the money and getting the GHD's.

I use AVON leave in conditioner when I strighten myhair and its good.
I have the brand......but I cannot remember it. any CERAMIC one.

and you like to flipyour hair out or curls once in a while,,,,then get the straightener that has soft rounded edges so that you can straighten and/or curl too!

that's the type i got. it's a carusel? not caruso. they sell it in the malls at a booth. if you want to know i'll email you. just email me for the info. i'll send you the site.
T3. are. i used to be a trainee hairdresser and although people think GHDs are the best they arent any more they used to be but now so many people use them it makes everyone think they are the best. T3s are actually the best as they are made of tourmaline which as well as being great to straigten with as they get as hot as GHDS you also have the choice on what heat you want. so you wont fry your hair so much. they also contain a mineral called tourmaline in which adds a little of the nurtrients taken out of your hair back in. they also do wet 2 dry straightners which are amazing on long hair and T3s are so good i have even used then on afro hair and it has straightened it.
KODO - There better than GHD's and you can get them at wholesale price from the site below. (£49.95)
all flat irons damage your hair unfortunately. The Chi Flat Iron is the best . It gets extremely hot really fast and you don't have to keep running it over the same strand to smoothe it over and over. A product that would be great is a leavein cond by Aveda called Brilliant Damage Control
    ghd's
    GHD or Babyliss
instead of using straighteners..u can go in for permanent straightning

beleive me...dont get hair bonding done..just opt for loreal extenso

my frnd got it done,he had really frizzy hair( sumthin dat rsembles ones pubic..u knw) but now they look like silk!!!!

for irons go in for panasonic or fredric fekkai
There's one by conair that works well. It's only 15 dollars or 20 dollars and it's white. It has steam in it. wait until it's super hot. There's really no need to spend 50 to 100 dollars on one. Plus they work best of freshly washed hair. The steam is very gentle.
I have horrible frizzy and curly hair. A week ago I boughr ghd straighterners. I wish I had bought them years ago. Could have saved myself a lot of bad hair days. They are fantastic.
GHD's without a doubt. They are the best and straighten any type of hair.
    GHDs, they are the BEST!!!!!
VO5 IS GOOD TO USE FOR HEAT DAMAGE AND A GOOD STRAIGHTENER IS BY REVLON

    The best hair Straighteners?

Could anybody recommend the best make of Straighteners? I have been using some rubbish straigners for a while and they don't seem to be working.

    answer minee?The best hair Straighteners?
What about Cloud Nine hair Straighteners from Cloud Nine they are made by the founders of ghd they are rarae and only been on the market 4 months. I would really recommend as an alternative for ghd
Lu,Conair has a new straightener out, that is called the In Styler,it's two curling irons in one,one of the sides is to curl your hair and the other side is to straighten it,I think this is a fabulous Idea and I'm going to check this out for myself, just wanted to make you aware of this new product.
    ghd ^_^
I have the Matrix (I think that is how it is spelled and what it is called). I think it works really well, but I know some people who have some other good ones to. There are some good ones I think for less money.
Hi, you can try CHI or GHD ,these two are the best of hair straighteners . such as Dark/Pink GHD MK4 styler flat hair straightener iron ,blue digital 1 inch CHI Ceramic Hairstyling Straightener iron .I would most definitely recommend it to you.

Best hair straightener for thick curly and dry hair?

I have thick and dry hair that has weird curls in it. My hair straightener is bad (babyliss) and doesnt do a good job on my hair, so what is the best one for my hair type? People say GHD is the best but are there any others?Best hair straightener for thick curly and dry hair?
I think serum is the best straightener when used properly - and get a fantastic ionic blowdryer, and get the T3 duality straightening iron. If you have the right tools you can straighten your hair in less time and therefore cause less damage.

I really like Frederic Fekkai ';Technician's Glaze'; - I put it on my hair while it's damp, blowdry, then put a little more on the ends to protect them before I use my iron.Best hair straightener for thick curly and dry hair?
A natural hair relaxer called BodipHeir. Hair straightening system straightens curly/kinky/wavy hair without the use of chemicals.
I have the same kind of hair..it's really annoying for me..i use vidal sassoon...it's not the best, but it works.
A GHD is definately the best hair straightner. If it's to expensive for you then you should try looking on ebay for cheap ones. There are also some places where you can take your old hair straightner in to them and they'll give you a big discount off the price of a GHD.
hello... I have very thick and very curly hair. i use the maxiglide hair straightener. it is the best of the best of all flat irons.. i also have a paul mitchell flat iron (used in most salons) but i prefer my maxiglide.. you can get it on ebay for a cheaper price. I paid 140.00 from a tv infomertial... it is totally worth it. it has pins on the flat plate to untangle and smooth the hair and it has a steam button that helps with the tougher parts.. the way the iron is designed, you can flip the ends so they do not look brittle.. it is worth every penny. (in my opinion better then the paul mitchell) i would also suggest using a shampoo and conditioner that is heat activated,. good luck and really get the maxi glide.. if u get if from their website, you will get their gaurentee. let me know if u get it.. u will love it as much as i do!! the website i posted has it for $89.95 with free shipping.. the website gives more things with the purchase but this is a good price. again good luck
I also have thick and dry hair but mine is sorta wavy because of my layers but Chi works best for me. I bought it for about $100 but it was on sale.
Move to a climate with low humidity. Your hair will act the way you've always wanted it to. Plus, you won't sweat as much or be as cold in winter.

ghds are great and they don't usually cost much over £100. you can also use them to curl your hair, if you'd like a change. they heat up super quick and are pretty hot so it won't take long to do your hair. if you don't get them in time try this link:

Ok well the Chi is good but expensive so probably not the Chi so i have the Wet and Dry Straightener and You can turn it to any temp and i think that it would be the best and you can get it at Walmart or Target And it is only like 15.00 to 30.00 dollars:).... Good luck
    try a remington.

i have the $40 one that is comparable to a chi.

it even shows it on the box how it is almost exactly like a chi!

my friend has one, and she said that she can't tell the difference in results between her chi and the remington i have.

it's from walmart too, so easily available!

chi...its a little bit more expensive but so worth it
More expensive like a Chi or Sedu. You can also use a straightening cream.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

    Sedu.

I have an entire box of junk that I have bought throughout the years to straighten my hair, including other flat irons. Nothing has ever come even close to giving the results that Sedu does.

I have thick, curly hair which is prone to frizzing when it is straightened. I chose Sedu after my hair stylist used it on my hair. This really does work. It heats up quickly, and is very light and comfortable to use. I can finally straighten my hair myself and look like I came from the salon, in about 15 minutes. It does not dry, break or damage my hair in any noticable way. Best yet, my hair style last for days.

What is the best hair straightener that I can buy?

Which one is the best to buy at a store? Price doesn't matter. But I don't want to order one. My hair is thick and very curly. I have a Remington wet-to-straight and it was the best I've used so far, but I need a new one!

Or would it be better to chemically straighten my hair? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!

Thank you! :)What is the best hair straightener that I can buy?
Do not chemically straighten your hair, it will just damage it.

I used to have the same one as you but I dropped it and it fell apart one day.

The best one you can get is a CHI. I have been using mine for 5 years or so. And trust me, it is WAY better than the Remington by far. With this one, your hair stays pin straight no matter how humid it is outside. And plus, it's not good for your hair to straighten it while its wet.

You don't have to order it online either. Just go to any local salon and buy one from them. I went to JCPenney's hair salon at the mall and bought one, and I even got a free tote with it.What is the best hair straightener that I can buy?
GHD's are some of the best straighteners I've ever seen! Much better then CHI's or even Sedu's. They're amazing! They are on the pricey side thought with their newest version [IV] retailing at around $270, But if you search around, you can find then for as low as $100.

Chemically straightening your hair is much more damaging to your hair then just straightening every day, so it really comes down to a manner of convenience. Is it better to just take the time to straighten it everyday and keep my hair healthier or to just get it done and kill it?
i have the same one you have... i've had it for maybe 3-4 years and i really need a new one cause this one turns off right after i turn it on. it takes an hour to do my hair now when it used to take me half an hour.

i was at target yesterday and saw the Remington T Studio Collection. it takes 30 seconds to heat up, 2 1/4 in plates, ceramic and titanium, and auto shut off.

it costs around $37 i think.

i'm gonna buy it next month.
I love Corioliss! they can be a bit pricey, but they use ion technology to brighten your hair and they use ceramic plates so you never burn your hair. I LOVE THEM... trust me on this, you wont find a better one on the market..

here are two websites.. One is regular retail the other is ebay.
The best straightener has to be ghd by far. Although it has to be said they are rather expensive (about £95 at the cheapest), it is wise to get them from and authorised stockists on the internet as they are able to lower their costs quite substantially!

Try the site below for ideas!

    Hope this helps : )

    Cheers
personally, i love my FHI. its not even wet to dry and i can dry moderately wet hair to perfectly straight in under 15 mins. i've had it for years. its going strong after daily use for 5 plus years.
Best pricey one is a Chi. A cheaper but just as good one is Vidal Sassoon. I wouldnt recomend chemicals because its irreversible and can damage your hair.

    GHD or Sedu

Go to www.folica.com for great reviews on all of the hair straighteners.

Sedu was rated no.1 on the list of best hair straighteners but ghd was only rated fouth. Read customer reviews to see what they think. Sedu is cheaper and seems to be just as good. Personally i don't own any but ghd is said to be amazing. Be careful about the chi because it's voltage only works in america and canada, it has a voltage of 110-120 (or something like that) Many countries have a voltage of 220-240 so if your country does don't get the chi or it will blow up.

Babyliss is not very good and damages your hair very badly though if price is an issue then this is a more cheaper option.

There is a new ghd out called pure/dark, it is quite pricey but it looks beautiful and has a wonderful performance.

I would definately reccomend ghd or sedu, i have no idea between those two so check out folica.com for great advice. Hope i helped and good luck. :)

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

Well for me I use the Coair CS25 1-5/8 straightener and it works real good. It has an attachable comb so it helps part the hair and keep it in place. It only runs like $30 so it's not a fortune. I have had mine for like 3 months already and use it everyday without it breaking.
i like my conair one! it's really small and works good for my short hair!
oh please people, if you want a good straightener you have to buy an expensive one. %26amp; i think any of the good ceramic ones that go up to 400 or 450 degrees works about the same %26amp; i have the chi too and i love itt.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
    SEDU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everyone is like so happy with that straightner!! go check it out at this website...people say its better than chi...
I got my Solia a few years back, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Like Jonna said, Sedu is the best.

    CORIOLISS - http://www.powderpuff.net/acatalog/corio/a>

BOTH ARE A LITTLE HIGH PRICED BUT WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY... ON THE CORIOLISS YOU CAN EVEN CURL HAIR.. ITS EASY I PERSONALY LOVE THAT ONE..

    GOOD LUCK!!!
I love my Revlon 1'; straightener.
i never buy those expensive ones, they break any ways. the best one in the freakin worl is the 'revlon ceramic straightner' and its about 17 bucks. its not like all those other cheap ones. all my friends and peopel i know use this one. my brothers girlfriend bought a chi and its already broke!
i forgot what its called, but i guess u can search it on google. i think my friend got it from qvc or one of those kind of channels.

its so cool! its a straightener that straightens w/ water. you like put water in this tube thingy and hook it on the straightener, and it straightens. and it even straightens wet hair, and it works soooo well! you even get like products to put in ur hair to make it shinier, and protect your hair and stuff. AND IT DOESNT BURN YOUR HAIR. ITS SOOO COOL. u can wave ur hair with it, or curl it or flip it. its awesome GETTT IT!!!
well i swear by my GHDs ive had them for over 4 years now and they are still good as ever they come with a 3 year guarentee, and after that if they break they will fix them ive heard, but seriously i use mine practicly everyday and they still work like brand new

they protect your hair and it actually stays straight

i would recomend them to anyone, ive tried a lot of straigteners and others dont come near to GHDs so i say buy them you really do get what you pay for and you wont regret it

In your opinion, what is the best hair straightener ever made?

I have a CHI Turbo right now, but I wanna know if there's a better on than that.In your opinion, what is the best hair straightener ever made?
Your straightener is pretty much top-of-the-line. I've heard of a Maxiglide hair straightener that might be better than the CHI but you may also consider changing your routine, like adding shine serum or protective hair products to alter your style. Good luck! ;)In your opinion, what is the best hair straightener ever made?
I personally just use a hair blower and a brush but I'm interested to see your answers u get here.

Well never use a hair straightener because it will damage your hair and you will be bald.
nope, you got the best one, that's the one i have and it's the best if you know how to use it well. SO STICK TO IT!
I also have a Chi Turbo, and I've had it since I was in 8th grade. (About 4 years ago.)

I love it so much! My friends all have hair straighteners, but they don't work nearly as well.

What I love about the Chi Turbo is that it's ceramic, so it isn't as damaging to the hair.

And it heats up so quickly!

    I love it, I'm very glad I bought it. =}
omg don't use hairspray and gel!!! it dries your hair out like you wouldn't believe and will give you build up bad!

get a flat iron and some glossy aloe oil from Sally's (about 8bucks)

I have natural ringlets and when I feel like a straight hair day that's what I use, doesn't dry my hair out. The oil is the only product you will need. It doesn't dry your hair out, but don't go overboard with it, unless you like greasy hair. Just a pea drop is what you need.
  • great makeup
  • What is the best hair straightener or flat iron?

Hey guys! What is your favorite hair straightener and why?? I'm looking for one that is not too damaging on my hair and will make it look healthy and frizz free...THANKS!!What is the best hair straightener or flat iron?
GVPWhat is the best hair straightener or flat iron?
The CHI flat iron. My favorite, I love it!

I love it because it make my hair so soft, and flexible, and shiny, and straight and pretty! Plus it can curl or wave if you know how to do that sort of thing. Awesome! I love it! My mom curled my hair with the CHI straightener for my dance. All my friends liked it! It wont burn your hair, it heats up fast, and you get the job done. Go get it!
I'm actually asking about the ghd flatirons, right now, but I do have two CHI flatirons, which I love. I use one at school (I'm a student cosmetologist) and one at home. I like the CHIs because they're versatile; you can straighten, curl, flip, and wave you hair with this one tool. I find the ceramic plates help smooth hair and eliminate frizz, as well as make your hair shin-eh!! :D

In the past, I've also used a WIGO, which I could never go back to after using a CHI, but it's still a good flatiron. I've used a Helen of Troy, which was an alright flatiron, as well as a few borrowed irons. Ultimately, I find you get what you pay for, so don't be cheap! And which ever brand you choose to go with, I don't recomend one over one inch thick. If it's any thicker, you won't get as close to the scalp, and it may be more cumbersome. And finially, make sure you use a silicone based product in your hair when you flatiron, so as you don't damage your hair.
    chi or ghd
if your hair is thin then i would recommend conair.

my hairs thin and it leaves my hair looking really nicee.

    :)
I have a CHI, I've had it for four years and it still works great!

I've stepped on it, dropped it, it even has a crack on the top, but it still works like the day I bought it.
I dont know what brand or anything, but they do have hair irons that straighten with steam, and that gets rid of the friz and lasts longer.
FHI heat its reallllyyy amazing its around $100 but its worth it!
    GHD definitely =]
CHI. I have used them all, and this by far is my favorite straightener. I use mine all day everyday and it has never let me down.
I like Remington hair straighteners. They work really good, but you dont have to pay a hundred dollars for it. I have two different ones, both by Remengton, and they are really good. I got each of them for under fifty dollars.
wet to b, or whatever its called

What is the best hair straightener out there?

I want my hair to be really straight. Any help? What is the best hair straightener out there?
their isn't one that's the best. What I do, is get a round brush with the prickly things on, and then after I'm done with a shower, I brush my hair with a straight brush, then I use a blow dryer, and put it on heat, and blow dry it while using the round brush. It helps for me. Looked really straight, and I have a perm. Hope this helps. I used to use conair they have really good spiral curlers so maybe they'll have a good straightener? What is the best hair straightener out there?

well, i love chi's, but they are abit expensive.. =/

I don't want one with a wide plates because I want to be able to use it to curl hair as well.

Also I have to be able to purchase it in Australia.

Any suggestions? Price (and the currency the price is in) and any additional details are appreciated.

    Thankyou :)

I think u can go to a saloon to get ur hair done, as it will be pretty reliable and u can get tips on how to maintain da curls after its done.....well as for straightening creams, i use Wellastrate, which is available in India, though its manufactured in Indonesia, or u can use Velocity. The only difference between these two is, Wellastrate is cream based and comes with a conditioner, but Velocity is powder based and u have to use hot water to apply it.. so in my views wellastrate is easy to use...n it costs approx $5 in Indian currency
One that is done by a hairstylist. You cannot purchase the same products as a stylist
Global beauty is an amazing hair straightner. My college roommate had it last year and I fell in love with it and bought my own one. I also heard that Sedu and Chi hair straightners are good as well. I bought my hair straightner (so did my roommate and my other friends who I have recommended it to) from www.folica.com I think it ships internationally but it's cheap and has reviews so I recommend taking a look at the website.
i absolutely LOVE the Ion hair straighteners. if you take good care of it it makes your hair silky soft. i have suuuuper curly hair and when i use it my hair is so smooth. i havent gotten to buy one yet but i use my friend's sometimes. ION's help keep your hair healthy. :D i dont know how much american vs. aussie dollars are but here they are about 80-130 dollars.
    Hey

By far the best straughtners are called 'ghd's' (the new ones) ... only problem is, yep, there about $300 or more

Otherwise there are older versions of the ghd which are still good and cheaper.

GHD and CHI are all good .you can try anyone of these , and GHD will expensive than CHI.at present, you can try GHD MK4 styler hair straightener curling iron,it is really good .
Conair are the best. You probably got the cheap one. Get Pro 230 steam; the red one. It's a bit pricy, but worth it. Has a built-in detangler comb %26amp; steam option. Make sure you always use heat protectants (recommend Tresemme).
the best one would be bed haed or chi they staighten hair really well my hair was impossibly to staighten but wen i got a bed head it staightend really well same with chi my friends hair is really curly then she got a chi staightener and it worked really well
Best is probably GHD's as they make your hair stay straight all day but they cost a fortune. =[

chi, ghd, sedu and if you want a cheap good one get a Andi's or Conair both sold at walmart. thats what i use and theyre not more than thirty dollars. ive also seen a good one from avon thats red but im not sure what its called. make sure you use a heat protective spray/cream!What is the best hair straightener for everyday use?
BaBlyiss (pronounced Baby Bliss) is awesome. I purchased mine brand new from Ebay about a month ago and it's the best flat iron I've ever tried. Instead of being ceramic like alot of straighteners out there (like the Chi) this is made of nano titanium which heats up super fast and works great. I had a Chi but it broke in only a couple months. BaByliss makes my hair so super shiny and the thing I love most about it is I only have to make one pass thru each section of hair and its instantly straight and silky smooth. When you have to go over and over each piece that's very drying and damaging to your hair. Also the BaBlyiss goes up to 450 degrees so it gets pretty hot. Don't put it up that hot unless you have really curly/coarse hair. Make sure you use a good heat protection spray in your hair and use a serum before you straighten too. Trust me you will LOVE this one. It is a little pricey but check out Ebay for really good prices. I got mine new for $80.00 Here is the link to check it out! http://www.folica.com/brands/babyliss_3.

I use my corliosis EVERY day and my hair quality has improved since using it! My hair used to be dry, dull, and had horrible split ends. Also, my hair is naturally kinky curly, and even it its raining out my hair stays stick straight and frizz free!

I bought it for over 100$ at a mall, but I looked on ebay and you can get one for $20.00!!!

CHI irons are not ceramic all the way through and will burn and fry your hair!

  • What is the best hair straightener for medium to thin hair?

+That is sold at Ulta stores, NOT ONLINE!

I have about medium-thin hair and I need a really good hair straightener. The one that could set the heat number thing. Must be 3/4-1inch. I also don't want the straightener to be SUPER hot, and must be affordable-around 10-20$. Please give a link or a specific name. Thank you.

The one you have now should be pretty good. Hair straighteners with ceramic plates are better for your hair than ones with metal plates.

    Best Hair Straighteners and Products?

What's the best hair straightener out there that I could buy at the drugstore? oh and any suggetsted products to reduce frizz or help keep hair straighter longer? I have thick black wavy hair

I've tried Revlon (the one that's really thing and blck) and Ceramic(i think) (its the one that is big and heavy)

sorry bout the undescriptive descriptionts! lol :DBest Hair Straighteners and Products?
You need a high heat (with adjustable heat settings), ceramic tourmaline or an Ionic flat iron. if you have short hair you should get a 1 inch and if you have long hair a 1 1/2 to 2 inch plate width. You can find a really good selection at Sally Beauty Supply. Most people are probably going to recommend Chi, and that's a good choice but you don't have to pay THAT much if you don't want to. just look for the features I told you about. Also, Sallys has a GVP (Generic Value Products) CHI flat iron for about $60 i think. It's the generic version of chi and i'm sure it works just as good for cheaper.

The reason you are going to want Ceramic tourmaline or Ionic is because the plates on those flat irons heat your hair from the inside out and that straightens your hair more effectively and also causes less damage.

The cheap flat irons with metal plates just simply burn your hair with heat and they heat from the outside in, causing more damage to the outside and the inside of the hair (cortex) isn't getting heated enough to keep it straight. Make sense? lol.

As far as products...make sure you get some heat protection spray and spray it on each section of hair before applying the flat iron. Another product that might help it stay straight is a straightening balm which you can get at wal-mart or anywhere else. you put the balm on towel dried hair and let your hair dry, then flat iron.

hope this helps. any other questions, feel free to email me. :)Best Hair Straighteners and Products?
the expensive ones are good theyre like over 80 dollars though. the one that hair stylist use is GHD (i saw it on the counter at a really good hair salon) and people say chi's are great, never tried it but i wouldnt want one. i have a solia, which is reallllyyy good i like it a lottt. u can find them all on this website: www.folica.com they have tops and the best irons. that where i got mine from.

What are the best hair straighteners for regularly coloured blonde hair.?

ghd are the best my daughter uses themWhat are the best hair straighteners for regularly coloured blonde hair.?
Obviously no straighteners are ideal, but GHD's are the best. I too have 'regularly coloured blonde hair', which I straighten everyday. I have tried many other straighteners but they pulled and broke my hair. GHD's without a doubt are fab, they slide through my hair and it only takes once per section, so your not over doing it. A heat protection spray is always a good idea and a little serum or finishing spray (I use Frizz Ease) gives your hair extra shine. What are the best hair straighteners for regularly coloured blonde hair.?
GHD without a doubt. I got mine on Amazon for about £80.
    ghd
I agree, GHD, but have a look at this website,

GHD's without a doubt, especially if your use the heat protective spray with them.
ghd i had 7 others before getting my ghds and i love them my hair is now straight it stays that way in wind and rain never been so happy with my hair they have changed my life my hair is also in great condition
GHD's without doubt, I also use the GHD protector spray, I straighten my hair every day and its in really good condition. Just be careful not to go over the same area too much, but thats why GHDs are so good, you should only need to go over your hair once, they are expensive but well worth the money.
ghd every time. I got mine from a hair salon for £75. a little less than you would pay online!!!!!
ghds and a heat protective spray
Leave it frizzy and be different, we dogs adore girls with blonde frizzy hair, so sexy...
im a died blonde too and use d and g ceramic straightners , they work really well , buy serum to protect my hair every 8 weeks to keep it tip top condition . i dont think it matters what straightners you use the trick is to protect from the heat with a good serum especially if using every day . hope this helps .
Be very careful !!! Regularly coloured hair is very fragile, try not to straighten it too frequently, use a protecting product before you straighten it (ghd do a good oil) Ghd are very good straighteners but you can also get good straighteners from ';sally's beauty supplies'; they have loads of shops and are open 7 days a week and I think they have an online shop. Got my ghd's from HQhair.com and use them all the time in my job, think they cost about £75
    RUSK. the best ever

  • What would be the best hair straightener for me?

Hi, I'm Lauren. I have naturally frizzy hair, so is there anything to accommodate that? I'm looking for something to make my hair very straight (I have curly/wavy hair.) Maybe something somewhat inexpensive if that is possible? And I'm going for the punk/scene look I guess you could say. Thanks so much guys! What would be the best hair straightener for me?
this is the one i use, 25 dollars at walmart. it works good and i have very frizzy and curly hair.

Go short! Get lots of layers! Check out these pics of Taylor Momsen. (from gossip girl)

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0597410/media/a>

You canget a straightener from walmart or target. They are around 30- 60 dollars. Not that expensive. Get one that is especially for frizzy hair.
for frizzy hair use this liquid called biosilk

for the straightner get a one called wet2straight you can straight your hair when its wet and dry
Hey, if you are going to flat iron your hair all the time, get a high end one because they heat up faster, and don't fry your hair as much.

I recommend a CHI flat iron. They last forever and I have one and my hair is thick and curly, and it works quite well. ($160)

GHD flat irons heat up even faster and hotter, but are ($250)

If you are going to use it rarely, then you can get away with a cheaper ceramic flat iron.(Get one that has Tourmaline) I have struggled with cheap flat irons for a while, and they just aren't worth it, especially if you use them often. Cheap ones fry your hair.

You can however get away with a cheap curling iron.
I have really curly/frizzy hair. Most straighteners will work well but I think buying a inexpensive one won't last very long. I have the CHI. It's about a hundred dollers and have had it for 2 years now. Me and my 2 sisters use it and it really works.

What is the best hair straightener in your opinion?

I want to buy a nice hair straightener for my sister for Christmas. She told me she liked the ';InStyler'; but I told her that it was too expensive for my budget, and also it didn't convince me after reading the reviews.

Then she said she would like the CHI, which I've been looking at and seems pretty good (I've found some in my budget).

Do you have or have used a good hair straightener that you can recommend?

My budget is $80.00. Thanks!!What is the best hair straightener in your opinion?
    Hey :-)

    Just wanted to say this...

-I have heard that the brand 'CHI' is VERY BAD, some have CAUGHT on FIRE!! (Seriosuly see link%26gt; http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtm/a> ). People just tell you to buy them because they are popular, not good quality!

At the end of the day the decision is totally up to you, and I'm not trying to pressure you or anything, it's just what I've heard (that they are also very flimsy and break easily) I'm just trying to help!

All the best :-)What is the best hair straightener in your opinion?
I use CHI. Its a little pricy but works great.
    the one that straightens hair

What is the best hair straightener out there??

My hair is frizzy, curly , and has alot of volume.....I 've been trying to find a good hair straightener that won't damage my hair but give me straight hair and that won't take hours. Any suggestions? What is the best hair straightener out there??
I think the Chi is the best, but it does damage you hair if you use it too much. I suggest using heat protecting spray. I have thick hair and it only takes me at most twenty minutes. What is the best hair straightener out there??
    Sedu (:
i think CHI is the best straigntner!

What is the best hair straightener for short hair?

Doesn't make too much damage and is good for straightening short hair? What is the best hair straightener for short hair?
i like chi straighteners :) ceramic irons are better for your hair. i would put something on your hair first like leave in conditioner or some kind of straightening balm. those help keep your hair from burning. What is the best hair straightener for short hair?
I have a CHI and it works great on my hair! It's kinda expensive but they last a long time.
Fright is the best. It is inexpensive and not messy. Fright makes hair stand on end and gives goose bumps. See, you get two for one.
    iso straightner. or corioliss

What's the best hair straightener out there, but not $100? And what's so great about ceramic plates?

The best one that's around $20 or slightly more? I'm doing my entire head so yeah. I have naturally curly hair, and very very frizzy. But I normally get a straightener perm thing done to it so that's not as bad. I would just like to know what's the best. And whats so great about ceramic plates? Are there any other plates that are better? What's the best hair straightener out there, but not $100? And what's so great about ceramic plates?
ceramic plates are most likely what your going to get now adays, there aren't very many straighteners without ceramic, and ceramic is better because it can get hotter than most materials.

if you want a good straightener for cheap, try eBay, i got a CHI for $60, which would be about $130 in stores. What's the best hair straightener out there, but not $100? And what's so great about ceramic plates?
the BEST hair straightener is the ISO straightener. u will never find one for 20 bux. nice ones are 200-350 dolloars, and ones from 80-100 are cheapo ones. the iso oneis usually about 300, but we got it on amazon i think for 34 bux! ceramic plates dont damage your hair. you need to be careful about styling your hair with a heated product, you should invest in a spray that protects your hair from heat damage.
Try ';Gold 'N Hot';... The original is about $13.00. I got mine from a friend nearly 3 years ago, and it still works quite well considering how old it is. (It takes about 20 minutes to heat up though now, because it's slowly dying). It's not ceramic, but it works great on my hair and I have CRAZY hair. It's really similar to African American hair, but slightly looser and equally as frizzy, lol.

Good luck, I know its hard finding decent and cheap straighteners.
honestly, the chi straightener is AMAZING and I got mine off amazon for $75, I have what I call halfie hair (im half white/half black) so my hair is ridiculously curly, and i swear by this straightener, I've never had one I loved so much so don't waste your money on a really expensive one
The solia is good. It's a ceramic and it's around $80 on folica.com. The solia is like the chi only less expensive an doesn't damage your hair as much. I bought two $20 straighteners and they stopped working or never worked to begin with. spend $80 is definitely worth it.
I have a Sedu, and it's AMAZING. I got it for around $70 though, but it's definetely worth it. Ceramaic plates are better for your hair, and they make it smoother and shinier.
ceramic doesnt kill your hair as much

very frizzy you NEED something more than $100

anything by chi works really well

you can probably find it cheap somewhere
You won't find any decent straightener for less than $80, sorry.
a solia is good i just got mine and it was only like 75 or 80 and it works well for that price.
instyler! Works great, if you want flips, you got it! If you want it strait... YOU GOT IT! It works for both :P

What is the best hair straightener for under $50?

I have thick wavy hair so its really hard to straighten and takes about an hour. I already have the wet to straight straightener, but its not the best. What is the best hair straightener for under $50?
I agree with with what the other guy said.

A cheap straightener WILL fry your hair and unfortunately I learned this the bad way after having to chop off 7 inches of my hair due to heat damage.

Take my advice, and go for the FHI. It's over 100... but it's the competing brand to the popular CHI. But the differance being that while the CHI has a ceramic outerlayer, it's insides are metal. In the FHI all six layers are ceramic. In the CHI, the heating pad is smaller than the metal and ceramic plates so heat is not distributed equally throughout whereas in the FHI the heating pad is the same size as the plates.

If you do want a cheap straightener though... that WILL bloody damage your hair but make it straight... I say go for either a Jilbre, Babyliss, Helen of Troy, or hot tools.

Good luck! What is the best hair straightener for under $50?
Clairol wet to dry straightner. It costs around $35.00 or so at CVS.
it you want a good straightener you will have to pay alot. most straighteners give your hair server heat damage. But if you want the best straightener your ll have to pay alot more than 50 dollars. the t3 is an awesome straightener and is well worth the money.
i have a straitener that works really really good and its only like $20. its called Revlon.

The one I use is Wet 2 Straight Remington and it works great! I got mine about a year ago at Wal-Mart for about $20. :)

    http://www.amazon.com/Remington-Straight/a>

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d/a>

You can use it when your hair is dripping wet!

When you have it on a low number, like 3, that would mean your hair is dry, and not that wavy. If it's on...let's say 10, your hair is probably curly or coarse, but dry. If it's on something like 15, your hair should be damp, and normal. If it's really high, your hair should be really wet (dripping).

Also, you will always know when it is heated up all the way because it will beep like 5 times. What is the best hair straightener that costs under $50 that you've used? One that makes hair super straight?
I have HOT TOOLS straightner..their really good..the lady who does my hair introuduced me to this straightener and i fell in love with it..i have THICK AND FRIZZY HAIR and other straightners it didnt work, plus it gaved me awful split ends..now with hot tools it smooths your hair and doesnt damage it, it actually healthy's your hair and it doesnt give you no split ends..i love it!..at the stores their usually around $70 but on ebay and amazon i got mine for less than $50 ( i got it for almost $30)..

    Hope i helped
I just asked a similar question a few days ago. A lot of people recommended the wet 2 straight by remmington. I got it yesterday and i really like it. I like that you can adjust the temperature on it and it made my hair pretty shiny after using it.
honestly, wet to straight or w.e. really doesnt work, i got that....

    and it kinda sucks..

it jsut damages my hair and makes it majorly frizzy...

thats acc the hair straightener i had, i came on here hoping to hear about a new one

im acc kinda interested in hot tools now.. :P
the GHD its the best! and remember, the thin plates work best on fringes, and the thick plates best on long thick hair.
Ive heard theres this straightener called ';wet 2 straight'; for 30 dollars. u can use it if ur hair is wet or dry. im pretty sure u can buy it at wal mart.
I dont think that you can buy anyhthing under $50 that works really good. Sorry. :(
just save your money to buy a nce one.

then it wont totally fry your hair
